Hi, I’m David Barr. I build bridges between human creativity and artificial intelligence.
I have a relentless fascination with how things tick (which has a tendency to turn into taking them completely apart). Whether it’s a marketing funnel or how to build bigger biceps, my approach is to strip it down to its core components—a process some call ‘First Principles thinking.’ Honestly, it’s just my brain refusing to accept ‘because that’s how it’s done’ as an answer. By understanding the absolute basics, we can reconstruct things in a way that isn’t just an improvement, but an evolution.
And my favorite place to apply this thinking? Digital content. Why? Because the audience gives you a real-time scorecard. You know immediately if your new creation is a masterpiece or needs to go back to the workshop.
Consider a single YouTube thumbnail. Most see a static image; I see a tiny billboard on a crowded highway. By treating it as such—deconstructing it into 9 distinct, attention-grabbing elements—I’ve built a content strategy that has generated over 110K views and counting.
When I’m not architecting the future of content, I try to switch off with a good movie—though my brain inevitably gets sidetracked by the physics proving the actor’s ‘full’ coffee cup is a complete and utter lie.
My Philosophy on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
“SEO was about giving a search engine a map, but GEO is about giving a generative engine a destination and a really interesting travel guide. It’s no longer enough to just provide the right keywords to show up on the list. We now have to build a narrative so clear, authoritative, and compelling that an AI engine trusts it as a primary source and makes our content the main attraction on the user’s journey.”
